The story of Abco Kovex began with the merger of Abco Packaging, founded in 1987, and Kovex Plastics in the mid-1990s. Over the years, we have continually expanded our product range to meet the demands of evolving market trends and customer needs. Our mission is to provide the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for packing, wrapping, and transporting goods, all while significantly reducing our carbon footprint. With a strong focus on sustainability, we are committed to delivering innovative packaging solutions to our customers.
In 2020, we joined the Bunzl Group, aligning ourselves with a global family of like-minded, complementary companies. This partnership has introduced us and our clients to new ideas and solutions, giving us access to a broader procurement and distribution network.
Our headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Swords Business Park, Swords, Dublin, just 2 kilometers from Dublin International Airport. Our state-of-the-art, secure storage facilities are on-site. With a presence in the UK and a new Distribution Centre in Germany, we are expanding our global reach.
Our experienced field sales team is strategically located throughout Europe, the UK, and Ireland. We regularly update and train our team on the latest developments and solutions in the packaging sector. Supported by a comprehensive back-office staff and dedicated product and customer personnel, our sales team is always ready to assist and service our customers’ needs.
Our team of fully qualified mechanical and electrical engineers receives ongoing training and operates a high-quality in-house service facility, with the capability to rework and rebuild systems when necessary. With engineers available 24/7, we can meet the demands of the most challenging installations.
As an importer, manufacturer, and distributor, Abco Kovex operates multiple branches. We import and distribute over ??? tonnes of industrial stretch films, and as a leading promoter of strapping systems, we manage the import and distribution of more than ??? tonnes of strapping material.
By manufacturing our bubble wrap in-house, we have developed a competitive and effective product for both domestic and export markets. By maintaining significant stocks of auxiliary items, we can reduce lead times for smaller custom orders.

EUMOS has been instrumental in the elaboration of several standards for cargo security and is constantly working with load security experts to improve security standards in Europe. We are fully committed to the EU objective of Vision Zero in road fatalities in the framework of the EU Road Safety Action Plan. The standards EUMOS 40509 and EUMOS 40511 are included into Annex 3 for Load Safety of the EU Road Worthiness Directive 2014/47/EU providing standards to keep load units safe.
